Oral piercing aftercare

+Brush teeth and tongue as usual (2x per day)
+Rinse with alcohol free or listerine mouth wash everytime you eat, drink, or place anything in your mouth.
+Avoid kissing and oral sex for 10 days
+Refrain from playing with jewelry
+No beer or dark liquor for 5 days
+Citrus and acidic foods may irritate the inside of your piercing
+Common sense is your friend....don't put anything in your mouth that doesnt belong there

AFTERCARE

+ Prior to performing any piercing, the area of the body to be pierced will be cleansed with an antiseptic solution. The area to be pierced is usually marked to ensure accuracy. Then a sterile clamp is used (unless it is area that requires a sterile needle recieving tube) to grip the body site to be pierced. Once the site is clamped, a single use sterile needle is pushed through the skin. When the needle breaches the outside, appropriately sized sterilized jewelry will be inserted into the newly created opening.( Oral piercings will be internally sanitized with an anti-septic mouth wash.)

+Healing
Generally, a new piercing when taken care of well, will heal in 4-8 weeks. You should expect some redness, minor inflamation, minor pain, and the discharge of some lymph fluid or plasma which will harden and make some crusties. However prolonged redness, inflammation, odor, or heavily discolored discharge, pain, could be signs of infection and you should always contact your piercer in these situations to determine if medical attention is necessary.

+ We recommend the following products for aftercare.
liquid antibacterial soap and a sterile saline solution

PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING
+wash hands thourghly, rinse
+re-lather hands and gently was all around the area for about 30 seconds and rinse with water
+apply saline to a q-tip and swab area 3-10 ntimes a day
+wear loose fitting clothing over the area
DO NOT TAKE ADVICE FROM  ANY ONE OUTSIDE OF THE PROFESSIONAL PIERCING OR MEDICAL COMMUNITY ABOUT YOUR PIERCING!!!!!!!
